I also doubt I will ever go on a cruise ship again either. The thought of being trapped for weeks in a cabin the size of a prison cell because another pandemic broke out is horrifying.

It's a shame really. I was talked into taking a cruise (on Princess Lines actually) and was really surprised how much I enjoyed it. You can eat whatever you want whenever you want, and a steward will bring you duty-free booze in your cabin. There's a gym and entertainments: and this was one of the smallest Princesses, the big Carnival ships have more entertainments. Probably just a happy memory now.

Outbreaks in other primates are actually common, but they have a high mortality rate like humans, and if they don't die, their immune system will knock us out. In bats, we can live in equilibrium with their immune system without killing them or getting wiped out.

I used to like the colony of bats near my dad's place (actually megabats, Pteropus) and didn't mind that they shat on me a bit. They were just so lively and fun. I wouldn't go anywhere near them now. I wouldn't be surprised if a ranger has poisened them all (actually I don't want to know).

I went on an Alaska cruise when I was 18. I ate a shitload of ice cream and my dad bought me drinks, it was a good time but I think I am freaked out for life now.

Most Southeast Asian countries with the exception of Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines are actually doing very well. Brunei managed to flatten its curve very rapidly. Thailand has managed to flatten theirs. Malaysia's taking a little longer, but we're getting there.
