I mean I’m not surprised. Clearly we’re not listening to the right expert when we listen to Dr. Fauci or the Surgeon General on TV. Nope.

Nope. Right now we need to prevent crowding. So it is a perfectly sensible thing to do. Reservations and appointment are done by countless institutions. Malls and gyms being added into the list is not absurd.

Yes it is. You really think people are going to book a time to go to the mall? We might as well not reopen them at all and mandate all shopping must be done online until there is a vaccine

People will do it, if it means they get a chance to go out to the mall again. The only one taking this to extremes and throwing a massive fit over not being able to walk around JC Penney is you.

I’m not an expert, I can only mention what little I know from the news. But I can happily suggest you stay safe and take care of yourself. There’s lots of little self-care things you can do at home, to keep yourself and others safe.

Yes I do. They already do with restaurants and spas. There is nothing absurd about it. It is a perfectly sensible measure to prevent crowding.

Doesn’t answer my question. How are you going to do a ballet or theatre production if you have to keep social distancing?

You're awfully attached to the performing arts in New South Wales. And here I thought you lived in New York. A person might think that you are freaking out for no good reason and should probably stop coming to this website when that seems to happen to you every day.

Yet people accept such rationing when they visit a popular restaurant. I'm not proposing anything much different: if you turn up and it's too crowded you don't get seated unless you have a booking. If you really object to it, you can turn up anyway, you might get lucky on a quiet night, they'll give you a seat and feed you.

To really finish off your analogy, one of the examples you chose yourself sometimes has to ration places. There's a rush after work and you may be turned away if the gym is too full and you haven't booked.

A restaurant is one thing. But the mall or gym? No

Gyms do sometimes ration places.

I had an argument typed up, but now I think better of it. We could all use a break.

Essentially what you are saying here is that you shouldn't have to change how you behave to account for the life-threatening situation we are currently living through. Think about that.

I can sorta understand where Lumen is coming from, he’s lost his job that he likely won’t be getting back so it’s possible he either just doesn’t care anymore or is struggling with things even more now. I can honestly sympathize and I want to see him get better, I’d give him a hug if I could.
