But the people that care about stuff like this, the people who are preoccupied with judicial reform, aren't the ones that really matter here. To win, Biden needs to shore up support among the blue-collar workers in states like Michigan that Obama won but Clinton lost. Those people don't really care that Harris was a particularly harsh prosecutor. What Biden does need is a young, enthusiastic, well-spoken woman with national name recognition. Kamala Harris is one of few in that field.

Plus, anything can be given a spin. She was just a strong prosecutor with a history of bringing criminals to justice or what have you. Her being an aggressive prosecutor is just going to turn off progressives who won't really be that important a demographic come election. African Americans and other minorities will, however.

Harris isn't going to help freaking win the Midwest. If anything she'd be a detriment to taking back the Midwest.

Based on the article, it seems he was counting on a Sanders victory in the primaries?

For example, I'm still open to the possibility of voting for him, depending on how his work with Sanders goes or who he picks as VP, but picking Harris would 100% guarantee I'd never vote for him.

You are in the minority. The majority of independents are swinging between Biden and Trump. The majority of these people are moderates who would not have a problem with a candidate who is tough on crime. A lot of Americans across the board are partial to that ideology. I'm sorry to say it but progressives who are concerned about her criminal justice record don't really matter to the Biden camp because they are not going to be an important demographic in the race. It's literally as simple as that.

How do you know that? Some could be swinging between Amash and Trump, or Amash and Biden, or Hawkins and Biden, or Hawkins and Trump.

You have no evidence of this preposition that independents are moderates. None.

I don't expect him to tip the scale either way but I did get a lecture from somebody elsewhere online yesterday about how by voting for Hawkins I'm contributing to the rise of fascism in America and Europe and helping Trump win.

That was fun.

People need to get over Bernies defeat.

Unlike in 2016 where Wassermann-Schultz and her Superdelegates rigged it, this time it was fair and square.

And devastating.

Maybe with AOC there will be more luck.

I dunno lol, but any attempts to reason with the person just had them yelling louder at me. Can't tell you how many times they linked me to a website telling me to buy a MAGA hat because I said I wasn't voting Biden.

I was disappointed hearing Bernie pulled out for about a couple hours, then I was over it lol. Most people probably got over it and moved on quickly as well.

Don't mistake a dislike of Biden as not getting over Bernie's loss.

In all honesty, the Green Party has the best policies. It's probably one of the most progressive parties.

This here. Just because we’re unhappy with another deeply sexist neoliberal doesn’t mean he didn’t win the primary.
Venicilian: wow. Jesus hung around with everyone. boys, girls, rich, poor(mostly), sick, healthy, etc. in fact, i bet he even went up to gay people and tried to heal them so they would be straight.

New Kereptica: Since power is changed energy over time, an increase in power would mean, in this case, an increase in energy. As energy is equivalent to mass and the density of the government is static, the volume of the government must increase.

Yes, but if you don't help put a Democrat in office you're a monster because clearly you support the other person who will engage in war crimes, and repeatedly and roughly having their way with the working class.

Neither were really rigged, but in both cases there was a considerable amount of putting the thumb on the scale so to speak. Given the relative inexperience of the bulk of Sanders' base, it makes sense that they would be upset at something that's effectively been going on for decades.
