If he does get reelected because an investigation was launched, there's pyrrhic schadenfreude that the GOP has Trump chained to them like an anchor. So that when he inevitably fucks up catastrophically like one of his ventures they won't be able to distance themselves and get off the SSDD Trumptanic before they sink with it. This of course on the condition that said catastrophic fuckup doesn't balkanize the U.S. into a third world ancap/doomsday prepper wet dream.

The US wouldn’t Balkanize but would most likely see more and more people turning towards authoritarianism of both flavors to fix the mess.

Tldr: Polling suggests that Arizona, Colorado, North Carolina, and Maine are toss-up elections that are just as winnable for the Democrats as they are for the Republicans. If they're lucky, they could grab one or more out of Alabama, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, or Montana. If they're really lucky, they may be able to flip Texas, the non-special Georgia set, or Kentucky.

This means that it's very easy to envision a net D+3 Senate, which would give the Democrats control of the chamber if they also win the presidency. Considering the size of the "possible" seats, it's also not unfathomable to imagine a D+5 to D+7 shift.

It's not, but being disgusted with rape and realizing that a serial rapist is worse than a one-time rapist is, at least, logically consistent.

I do see places like Arizona and Colorado going Blue while Alabama will go Red. I think places like Montana, Maine, and Iowa are toss-ups and the rest lean one way or the other. At least, that's how the current situation is and my opinion due to the lack of polling besides Arizona.

Assuming Democrats win in Arizona, CO, NC, and ME but lose in Alabama, it would be a 50-50 Senate, which certainly wouldn't be ideal for Democrats if they lose (on the flip side, it would be bad for the GOP if they lose). With Biden at the top of the ticket, the House is at least safe for the Democrats and the Senate is at play. That's despite the lack of enthusiasm Biden is generating, which I'll note may not mean much considering what will drive people to support Biden is to defeat Trump, that's what drives them: defeat Donald J. Trump.
