The world’s oldest known wild bird, a Laysan albatross named Wisdom, hatched another chick this season at age 70.

Every year, millions of albatrosses return to Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge to their same nesting site—and reunite with the same mate.

In the world’s largest colony of albatrosses, Wisdom and her mate, Akeakamai, have been hatching and raising chicks together since at least 2012, when biologists first banded the male.

Mt favourite type of train is the Tangara. I've wanted a model Tangara since I was a toddler. Now, finally, after 20+ years of wanting a model Tangara, I have two of them! Incidently, my model train set is almost completely and ready for operation. Thanks Dad and the carpenter that we hired for building it!

For the record, this is a Tangara

The above photo is the old livery, the livery I grew up with, but there's also a new livery

I got one of each. (Or more accurately, my parents bought ithem for my birthday/Xmas)

Fun fact: "Tangara" is apparently an Aboriginal word meaning "to go"

Over 400 people volunteered to clean up and repair a mosque in Moorhead on the Minnesota-North Dakota border after a fascist thug vandalized it during Ramadan.

And I want hereafter to be ranked with the latter and, I trust, the stronger party." -- Ulysses S. Grant, 1861 | "You don't get mulligans in insurrection." | "Today's Republican Party is America's and the world's largest white supremacist organization." | "I didn't vote to overturn an election, and I will not be lectured by people who did about partisanship." -- Rep. Gerry Connolly |"Republicans...have transformed...to a fascist party engaged in a takeover of the United States of America."

The team at a Red Lobster in Manassas, Virginia recently received a surprise visit from a unique and unexpected guest – a calico lobster, the third most rare lobster in the world.

Scientists say the rare coloring with a calico lobster occurs about one in every 30 million lobsters.

The restaurant donated the lobster to the Virginia Living Museum lobster display.

The name given to the calico critter? Freckles.
