The Scottish SPCA is caring for its youngest ever badger, a two-week-old cub found in woodland near Inverness.

The animal welfare charity was alerted to the tiny cub by a member of the public. It is thought the cub had been dragged away from her sett by another animal.

The badger, who has been named Lavender, will be reared by the SSPCA's National Wildlife Rescue Centre's wildlife care assistant, April Sorley, for the next 10 weeks.

Lavender will be weaned at 12 weeks and released in the autumn with other badger cubs in the SSPCA's care.

This sheep has been rescued in australia from it's own supermassive mass of 35 kg wool

It was shear bliss for this sheep when his 75-pound matted coat was removed - allowing him to see clearly for the first time in years.
Baarack, as he has been nicknamed, had been left to run wild for years and grew a massive coat of wool before he was rescued by an animal sanctuary.
Volunteers at Edgar's Mission in Lancefield, Australia, predicted Baarack had at least five years' worth of wool growth.

The world’s oldest known wild bird just turned 70.

Wisdom the albatross, who has survived tsunamis, outlived most of her mates, and raised over 40 chicks, is pushing the boundaries of what we thought birds could do.

A bird thought to be extinct for nearly two centuries have been accidentally rediscovered in the forests of Borneo by two locals. The black-browed babbler (Malacocincla perspicillata) has been first discovered in 1840 by Charles Lucien Bonaparte – nephew of the famous Napolean Bonaparte. However, that has been the first and also the last sight of the tiny bird until now.

American Forests, the non-profit, and TAZO Tea, the corporation, have teamed up to create TAZO Tree Corps—a paid, locally hired workforce that will increase and maintain the tree canopy in lower-income urban areas—starting in parts of Minneapolis, Detroit, Richmond, the Bronx, and San Francisco in the spring of 2021.

Rollouts to additional cities is likely in the near future.
