One of these days I really need to get the supplies and paint my Hero Forge mini of my DnD character. I've done plenty of Gundam models over the years, but inking in panel lines on a 1:100 scale giant mecha is an entire different skillset from painting a little mini!

I had been thinking of getting a hero forge mini but the campaign i was part of fell apart towards the start of last year, and ive been on the fence ever since. Might get one some day tho just to have.

I got a new phone on Wednesday. I'd been nursing my Samsung Galaxy S3 since a week before it was officially released and it was trash.

New phone is cheap but light years better than what I had. Can now connect with family though Whatsapp and even have coverage all through my house. :)

Mine's up for an upgrade and I guess I could order one and have it sent but I much prefer having them do the data transfer. I can wait, I guess.

You're retiring it to the library? Good show. I never thought I would enjoy reading on a phone but now ... I can carry so many books in my pocket!

I'm happy that I'm lucky enough to have a room in my house that I consider a library. 6 bookcases full of books that I like.

Honestly though, might be worth waiting if you're serious about getting one. With the color minis Kickstarter having kicked the crap out of almost all its stretch goals, the quality is likely to increase considerably. (Plus even if you don't get the color-print mini, you could still use the eventual color tools to test out paint schemes before deciding how to paint an unpainted one!) I mean, they're not cheap, but if you've got a particular special character you'd like to see, it's a great tool.

Speaking of which, my DnD group is slowly trying to get things switched over so we can play online together since obviously getting together isn't an option right now. Sadly, might be awhile since our techie of the group is currently being slammed as he's his company's "literally wrote the company book on how to deal with this situation" guy and he's been working his butt off on that. Buuuut... that does give the rest of us more time to scheme and do some individual character roleplay bits online in the meanwhile. ^_^

Small happiness but it checks out.

The last few weeks I did some papercrafting and assembled a number of buildings for my 6mm miniature wargaming. Nothing fancy, but I made them sturdy with the help of internally applied cardboard recycled from packaging. Simple, yet satisfying.
