San and I warned you all.
I don't think anyone was denying that, not to my knowledge. I'm well aware of the fact we could see at least 800,000 jobs lost for March; we had 70,000 jobless claims just this past week, the biggest jump in a while. I know several of my friends were told to fill out unemployment sheets so this is serious. Whether those jobs will remain temporary or more permanent, however, remains to be seen. For our sake, let's hope it's the former because it can be worst, and it's possible Jobless claims will spike to 3 million next week. Of course, if it's temporary, we're going to see some of the biggest growth in our history starting in the third quarter, that's if slowdown that was already occurring doesn't sink us further: oil is under $20 a barrel and corporate debt is at record highs.

Idk maybe it’s my anxiety finally getting to me after months but it does feel like very recent developments as the disease has reared in the West mean this is worse than we have anticipated... my mum is a frontline NHS nurse, almost sixty, lifetime smoker, I feel sick thinking about her going to work. It’s true that we generally are blind to things until the threat seems close to us but I’ve been interested in this pretty much since January, worried and certain it was coming since February, and it’s never seemed so bad before? Am I going crazy or smthn

Sounds like your mother has all the risk factors in her.The elderly, smokers and dangerous working environment.I don't mean to shirk responsibility, but it's unwise to continue working at this time.

It is rumoured that smokers are safer due to the virus not damaging tarcovered lungs any further.
But with all the fake information out there we will never know.

Coronavirus is a nice wake-up call to some of those whom were enjoying getting lots of cheap goods from China. Most of the sheep that make up society have long since grown fat and complacent, unwilling to truly face hardship or suffering. Those that now are discomforted by minor inconveniences have taken to bleating their discontent while others still try to understand if there is some danger about. Until we can build up domestic industry again in the United States, we're going to keep suffering from the decannual pestilence that leaks out of China.

China is a country that read animal farm and unironically thought it was a good idea.

North Korea on Saturday welcomed what it said was a letter from U.S. President Donald Trump to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, saying it was a sign of “the special and very firm personal relations” between the two leaders despite recent frictions.
A senior Trump administration official confirmed Trump sent the letter and said it was “consistent with his efforts to engage global leaders during the ongoing pandemic.”
The president looks forward to continued communications with Chairman Kim, the official said.

Two, my work came from "Sanitize every register every hour" to "sanitize every register after every customer" in like a day. Next day we're sanitizing every cart we bring in, every time. Nobody knows what fucking social distancing is and my works busy every fucking day I work right now. Every day feels like a god damn weekend. My work isn't gonna shut until its forced to. But we are changing hours, but we're all going to work the same so anyone working past closing is probably gonna be disinfecting the shit out of everything. Though our hour cuts aren't as dramatic as Home Depot's.
Legitimately I'm feeling a lot more anxious now about the whole thing. Not because I'm really that worried about myself, more that I have a mom with possible vulnerabilities. I dunno, its wild. I really think my governor needs to make a "Shelter in place" rule up here. The US is heading towards the trajectory of Italy, and shits getting real bad t here.

Honestly kind of impressed by Scott Morrison's handling of this so far. It's a nice turnabout after the bushfire bungles he did.

The PRC has been exploiting its workers since the early days of its revolution by convincing them to do things that they fundamentally knew was wrong, but threatening the use of violence if they failed to comply. The simple fact that they kept doing it and were only benefiting from the West falsely believing the war against pro-Marxist ideologues ultimately has no take on the current conversation at large.China exploits its billion-strong subjects in sweatshops that produce cheap shit by the tonne per minute. CoViD's threat to China's economy made me realize that.

This is 100% to try and appease North Korea and not make them trigger happy. Right now is not the the time to have any global tensions.
Also, in worrying news, China has reported 45 cases of imported coronivirus cases. Meaning that no, this is not containable. Which anybody with half a damn brain could realize months ago given how long the incubation period is. I am seriously livid with the WHO Chief who insisted it was for over a month, even though this sort of infection is practically impossible to contain if it is widespread.
