If that's the case, why did China try to cover up everything about this pathogen to the point of jailing doctors reporting on it and on top of that flat out lying to the WHO about its human-to-human transmission?

Why did multiple initial cases deny any connection to the wet market in question? There is no stigma involves in patronizing one of these markets.

Why did this outbreak occur 900 feet from a laboratory that was studying bat coronaviruses and working on genetic engineering related to them, particularly work similar to the current COVID-19 strain?

Why did they destroy the market in its entirety before anyone outside or inside of China could investigate it for understanding the source of this pandemic?
