In the Philippines the military has standing orders to fire on citizens who do not obey the Covid-19 restrictions.

Incidentally, it does not have as many Covid-19 deaths. Funny how that works out.

I don't give a shit about their "intentions." They're getting people killed. We don't say drunk drivers who ran someone over get to say "oh I honestly thought I would make it home without running someone over." They go to prison. They get beaten and raped. They're let out into a society that shuns them, if they ever get let out at all. They'll wish they were dead. In a way a bullet would be more humane.

It's because Mexico shut down nonessential businesses, and Corona's factories were considered nonessential.

Why nonessential ? They work with alcohol. They could repurpose to making handgel; like quite a few other brewers have already done.

Good question.

There might be other reasons for that than the shoot-to-kill order which has only recently been issued.

Something something about less testing, less registred case and maybe, just maybe and hopefully, hotter climate being bad for Corona.

I never said they should.

But firing squads aren't the way we do things here. Never mind a more appropriate charge would be manslaughter, not murder.

Key phrase "into a society that shuns them." No one wants to hire a person whose terrible decisions got innocent people killed, and who was made worse by the trauma of prison. So a bullet to the head would still be more humane.

That’s just because it’s a felony, and we treat all felons that way - whether they killed someone in a drunk driving accident or they were dealing a little weed.

We don’t really treat drunk drivers who kill people worse than weed dealers (in fact, slightly better, as they can still get federal assistance to go to college).

Ahh what now? As being currently unemployed; I like being unemployed versus shot in the head.

People do make terrible decisions. It happens all the time. Even at CEO levels. You’ve read “retiring with my golden parachute stories” Guess what made that happen?

Intentionally killing people? Yes that person will have a hard time. Even unintentionally. However; there are people who will give these people a chance. Even murderers.

Convicts do have a hard time. Many people just can’t forgive even if the person served their sentence. There are those that do however.

I suspect most people would rather live with the misery rather then take the easy way out.

Shooting or capital punishment for breaking lockdowns is a bit much. I understand fines and even a spell in jail if they don’t comply but killing them? Yeah, overreaction.
