So according to this website, Alabama's peak in resources will be April 17th while the peak in deaths will be April 19th. So from this I can deduce that because there will be more patients than resources, the patients will die. But because those patients are dying, it frees up the resources to then be used on new patients and thus dwindling down the deaths.

Pretty certain my Macroeconomics professor used an example like this when explaining supply and demand.

This pandemic overall, is perhaps one of the greatest events to ever happen in terms of revealing the folly of globalization. Once this is all over, the world has a big opportunity to move away from globalization if not do away with it permanently, with regards to the manufacture of certain things.

There are many articles trying to explain why the richest country in the world can't get enough suitable masks to its people. But not one of them can truly do it justice how pathetic the world economic order is, where 50% of the world's production for masks is in China and many other countries have forgotten how to make domestic equivalents. Same goes with ventilators and much more.

Even if one is to keep globalism in its current form, I don't think many would argue against keeping the production of necessities like medical equipment within one's own borders.

Or in favour of outsourcing your research facilities to China.
Which sadly is exactly what has happened ove the past decade. It does not help now.

This is a very badly written article, but the graph shows something I can't find a better source for. Research and development spending per country ... The USA dominates and China doesn't make the list.

Wherever remedies are discovered, I'm sure they will be shared around the world. I'd be more concerned about having pharma manufacturing within your own borders. Whoever actually makes the stuff will serve their own people first.

Things go on as usual except that the EU and especially germany loose a hell of a lot of prestige with the periphery whilst China gets a big boost on account of not just successfully handling the situation but selflessly helping others do so as well.
Whether this means more people in the long run start seeing the western way as less beneficial than the Chinese system is anyone's guess.

Make no mistake, the only winner in this pandemic is the PRC.

Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

The above post contains hyperbole, metaphoric language, embellishment and exaggeration. It may also include badly translated figures of speech and misused idioms. Analyze accordingly.

China is mostly in the media due to their "selfless aid" consisting of useless substandard masks. I doubt that will impress many.

Most of the media I've seen has been rather harsh on the PRC for causing the whole mess. As for how well they've handled the crisis, I'm not sure their numbers or claims can be trusted quite yet.

Reportedly wuhan has cranked out 46,000 urns for their claimed 3,300 dead. Their crematoriums have run 24/7, enough time to cremate over 40,000 bodies. Chances are China suffered far worse than they are saying. Hopefully that isnt the case and the urns/crematoriums were just a precaution.

In other news my managers wife has a fever and I'm developing a cough. Construction is deemed sacrificial essential though so if I call off of work without a doctor's note saying I have corona virus I'll get fired and lose my health insurance. Dont worry though, the warehouse we are building for an auto parts supplier is on schedule and will be ready some time in late 2020.
