Hopefully Chinese will break the ancient habit of seeing their "meat" still alive. I see no reason that snake or bat shouldn't be eaten at all, but it will have to be slaughtered, gutted skinned and packed in a factory instead of in a market. Doing that would also legitimize the trade, reducing the burden on wild animals in favour of farmed ones.
