Yeah. I wonder if maybe supplies to tradespeople is a better reason?

Its literally mostly just people doing their normal shopping. Paint has been doing extremely well.

If we were serious about the "essentials" we'd shut down the entirety of inside and outside garden, probably paint, and a few others, and only leave "essentials" open, but nope. All Lowe's cares about is the profit.

No, but still, as a group normally associated with crimes, it's just feel weird, even if they have history of charity in Japan.

I'm sorry, good sir, but do you mean by 'meme'?

There is a chance to preserve a nucleus of human specimens. It would be quite easy; at the bottom of some of our deeper mine shafts. The coronavirus wouldn't penetrate a mine thousands of feet deep. In a matter of weeks, improvements in dwelling space could be provided. It would not be difficult. Nuclear reactors could provide power indefinitely. Greenhouses could grow plants. Animals could be bred and slaughtered. A quick survey would have to be made of available mine sites. I'd guess there would be space for several hundred thousand people.

I'd hate to have to decide who stays up and who goes down, but that could easily be accomplished with a computer. It could be set to accept factors of youth, health, sexual fertility, intelligence and a cross-section of necessary skills.

It'd be vital that top government and military men archaeologists be included, to impart the required principles of leadership and tradition. They'd breed prodigiously, with so little else to do. With a ratio of ten females to each male they could achieve current gross national product within 20 years.

Regrettably, yes. But it is, you know, a sacrifice required for the future of the human race. I hasten to add that since each man will be required to do prodigious service along these lines, the women will have to be selected for their sexual characteristics, which will have to be of a highly stimulating nature.

It seems that I won't be eligible for the free $1200. If you make $2500 or less during 2018 or 2019, it won't apply to you. Its assumed that you're claimed as a dependent for someone else or are doing fine enough (without income) if you're that low in terms of income but are still alive. It makes sense that the government would find ways to pay fewer people than they have to, as to not break the bank.

But in any case, 90%+ of the American population is covered in some way. If there are 10% or so who aren't, that is a worthy enough sacrifice perhaps. Chris Chan as one example, is more likely to get it than me, given that he receives "donations" from online fans or SSDI that I don't (if the amount is greater than $2500 and they have tax information out there for 2018 or 2019), given that I just never applied for anything I didn't have to.

Anyways, good luck to everyone who does manage to get free cash this year.

Its not essential when you're supposed to not even go out to AVOID spreading it in the first place.

The majority of all US citizens will be eligible in some way, just that you have to make over $2500 in a given year or below $99,000 at most. But you won't get the full amount unless at or below $75,000 in a given year. You basically need tax returns or info with the IRS for either 2018 or 2019. The idea is to deliver money to people who've lost income because of the virus and for it to be used as stimulus. People who aren't apart of the economy to any meaningful extent, will of course be excluded.

If you make minimum wage, you pull in at least $15,000+ or so, as an individual; which is more eligible than someone who lives like a monk or is under a rock in terms of being invisible to the system. Of course, none of it is officially "signed and done" just yet. It could change for the better or worse according to the whims of the US Congress.

It looks like normal people are being paid off $1200 to look the other way, whilst Wall Street or various industries will get the majority of bailout money to do stock buybacks and other financial trickery. The entire package of deficit spending will be anywhere from $2 trillion to $4 trillion. And realistically, the checks won't arrive until May of this year at earliest.

Ordinary people may have financial difficulties. But I think poor people may face survival difficulties.Their income has to be used to buy survival supplies

That makes me angry, on your behalf. I can't believe you're taking it so well. There are genuinely poor people out there, sure maybe they get charity or help from their family, but they're still as poor or more so than a welfare recipient. They should get at least what everyone else does.

I don't understand why they can't cut cheques the moment the President signs the bill. And not just for individuals: businesses needing to change their business model from storefront to delivery, or retooling to let their workers work from home, don't need the money in May (many of them will be gone by then). They need the money now.
