If we're going to blame China for the pandemic itself, we've got to propose some alternative that would have kept the virus entirely within China and stamped it out (no country has demonstrated the ability to do that), or alternatively prove that it's only in China that such a disease could have crossed from animals to humans. I don't think we can do either.

In China, this sickness was mainly the CCP's fault and not that of the average Chinese person. In Italy, millions of people disobeyed social distancing guidelines and that's why it spread so fast there. All they had to do was follow the rules. But asking Italian people to listen to authority is a losing battle, and unlike last time, this time the people of Italy fucked up by not heeding the warnings.

The only upside to the pandemic is that its an avenue for peaceful competition between nations. Who can save the most of their own citizens? And after that perhaps another prize, first to a cure and even beyond that, first to produce a cure in such quantity they can export it.

All the research and development still based in the US might lead us to think it will be them. But when the Chinese do something they do it amazingly quickly, plus they can imprison people with the disease and test drugs on them against their will, which would hurry things up a lot.

I have a job, and you can't get the disease if you avoid contact with people and wash your hands after touching a surface people were near.

There's only two places I went to today. My job and a bench by the highway. Then I went home and cleaned myself off with antiviral soap. I'm not planning on catching corona.
