The Holy Bible is of course a historical account and you don't know what you're writing. If you aren't baptised I strongly advise you to let baptise yourself in the Catholic Church and if you already are, repent and receive the sacrament of Penance, please.

Nowhere did I write that pregnancy is a punishment. It is actually a bliss in marriage to found a happy family.

You didn't need to say it explicitly, your avoiding sexual intercourse comment said the same thing, just in different words.

1. Not outright, but you included all the hallmarks of people who think pregnancy should be used as punishment, like how people should keep their legs closed, saving it for marriage, only doing it when you're making kids, etc... Whether you want to admit it or not (No worries, most people who believe it is don't want to, so we're used to that here), you're saying pregnancy is punishment. :)
2. Not for the person carrying the thing for 9 months.

The thing is that a fetus isn't a baby - an egg isn't a chick and you'd have a harder time killing a chick than crushing a fertilised egg

Abortions are usually only conducted after extreme consideration for one's own well being. People aren't just going stop wearing condoms because they know they can waltz into a clinic 4 weeks later.

And, that Christianity is a minority in NZ so very few people are thinking in the sense that you kill God's gift in an abortion

Yes its still preferable to abortion which can be a fairly nasty thing. Altough sometimes necessary.

IMO I think the decision about that should be left to woman alone. Perhaps even the laws and regulations about it should only be written by woman.

If by baptized you mean molested by a priest, no thank you. I'm far too old to have my cheeks clapped by a holy man anyways. They wouldn't bat an eye at my 25 year old ass.

But one day when you'll die you will stand in front of God's particular judgement for you. And with unrepented/unconfessed mortal sin you might descend into hell forever. Do you really want that? Read the accounts of several Saints on their visions of hell.

And in what should be rare instances that abortion is needed it should be available. However we must promote extensive use of contraceptives and things like the morning after pill to reduce the need for an abortion, in addition to government support of single parents and children.

Please don't turn this thread into a Catholic recruitment platform, that isn't the subject of the thread, or any thread here for that matter.

No, some people just don't want to have children for different reasons. Scripture says it's alright to be single, but that if you can't control your sexuality you should marry. If you don't want children you can make another couple adopt them. And you can always pray to God to give you strength against sin.

Also note that the pains of birth are a consequence of original sin. I think you can indeed call those pains a punishment by God for the woman for her original sin. The punishment for man is pain in their work on the fields and the work itself.

I’m not christian and my religion doesn’t believe in hell. So why would I join a religion where I’m threatened with eternal torture if I don’t do want said religion wants?

However convinced you may be this is the case, the fact of the matter still remains. When anyone dies they will simply slip into the void and lose consciousness for good. Then their body will remain until it decomposes. This is the extent of the after life and no amount of bible thumping will change my mind, or anyone else with any degree of critical thinking above that of a toddler.
