Oh boi it might be. I know I can live without sugar. And if it is addictive, it can't get you high. After you eat 10 spoons o fsugar you still know what you are doing. Try to smoke 10 pots and tell me how did it go

When I smoke "ten pots" I get hungry and eat like ten sugars.

Not much to be honest. The American jail system is basically just modern day slavery.

Yeah I agree with that. If you look to Norway, their jail system costs a lot of tax money because it is most probably the most beautiful and functional prioson system in the world so it is very costly but American prison system is pure cheap sh*t

Well we could continue arresting people who are out of control in public because not doing that was never on the table.

But we must make sure that our prisons won't be full of people who were out of control in the public because if they are, the legalization didn't help with criminality at all

"It costs over $20000 a year to keep a pothead in prison. That's a lot more than how much it costs to have a pothead live on your couch. Do the moral crusaders give a damn about this? Hell no." - Penn Jillette

Do you suspect Penn Jillette is being disingenuous here? (War On Drugs episode, P&T:BS.)

consumption of any drug should be legal for adults. there are definitely reasonable arguments for going after dealers though

Some hard drugs are pretty harmful, remember krokodil? It appeared in the US circa 2011, if I remember that correctly. Still, I think it's less costly to apply those people for rehab than to just imprison them. Thankfully, there are enough rehabs right now: https://addictionresource.com/addiction ... t-numbers/

You're ignoring the aspect where prisons then make money off that pothead. Forced labor is a thing.

Just force him to work to pay his own bills. Any extra money you can donate to the state budget, or if you think that would encourage imprisoning too many people (as I do) charity.

This being said I would support legalizing all drugs, especially hard ones but for other reasons. I basically think that anyone should have the choice to commit suicide and that the state has no right to stand in his way.
