True, and it would still be a terrible argument to make. Watching Jimmy Neutron doesn't help a 3rd grader with science homework any more than Dora meaningfully helps them in Spanish.
The main point of stained glass windows, statues, and paintings were to help the laity understand Scripture. You may argue that it has no place in churches right now, but I would argue that, now, it would serve to help children understand the Mass.
I'm a visual learner, but there comes a point where looking at pretty things distracts from the lesson at hand.
