A friend of mine on Facebook just realize she doesn't know how to adult. And the realization is astounding because I believe none of us do, we're just following what others in the generation before us did with our own twist.

And what do you think "adulting" is? You see what your parents and their generation did, figure out what you think worked and follow that. Otherwise, you make it up as you go along.

I'm part of two unions. The IWW and I'm also part of AFSCME which is by extension a part of the AFL-CIO. I very much doubt Ethel is a Wobbly.

It's about the IWW

There's foxes in the hen house
Cows out in the corn
The unions have been busted
Their proud red banners torn
To listen to the radio
You'd think that all was well
But you and me and Cisco know
It's going straight to hell

So come back, Emma Goldman
Rise up, old Joe Hill
The barracades are goin' up
They cannot break our will
Come back to us, Malcolm X
And Martin Luther King
We're marching into Selma
As the bells of freedom ring

So come back Woody Guthrie
Come back to us now
Tear your eyes from paradise
And rise again somehow

I didn't know you were a Wobblie, Hel. How is it?

Always join your union, whatever that may be. Even form one if need be. The IWW is the Union for everyone and it's great that people are starting to see again that capitalism will never help the common worker and that we fight for those rights and benefits together.

Internet goes down and resetting it doesn't work.

Me: "I've missed my zoom meeting, I've told my boss and I'm doing all I can to fix it, but what if we can't and I get fired because I can't do any work, and will we able to afford things?"

Partner: turn it off for a half hour then go back, probably overheated or something.

Half an hour later, everything works again.

I only react proportionally to things.

Most of the world is still under pseudo-lockdown though.

Is this year's Renaissance fair a medieval quarantine? Where you are forced to stay inside a boat under armed guard for 40 days?

I wouldn't know. Never been. Pretty sure they're closed, though. I just happened to notice it on Google Maps when I was looking around the area.
