Within the last few days, 2 people I know died and in both cases it wasn't coronavirus. I'm weirdly grateful, which is just wrong, but it feels like they're alive if it's not coronavirus.

The news is sad, but the silver-lining is they didn't pass from this particular horrid illness. You can take joy in them passing peacefully while still mourning their loss.

It feels good that it was something else, yes. But it makes it feel like it never happened. I feel kind of terrible that I almost feel the same, but it doesn't seem real.

Okay y'all I'm gonna flip a coin to decide whether my Stardew Valley farmer is highly religious or mildly religious. Yes this matters.

Don't feel terrible about that. Everything is so kind of out of whack these days, so just let yourself deal with it as it comes. There's no 'right way' to feel in this moment.

Don't feel bad. Everybody's so intensely focused on coronavirus that it almost feels like everything else has stopped in place. It's okay to just feel what you feel. No need to try to manufacture sadness if you're not actually feeling it.

Personally, I had a close friend pass away just before all this stuff became serious and all-consuming in the US. In some ways it feels like ancient history now with everything that's going on, but in other ways, it feels like it was just yesterday and time hasn't moved at all. Perception of time is weird.

I think it will come back when things are normal. Whenever that happens, emotions will maybe be normal again. But it still is disturbing to not feel different.

“I know what you're thinking. Did he fire six shots or only five? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?”

On the topic of Stardew Valley, you can actually throw the Mayor's underwear into soup for the local regional governor (and all the villagers) to eat...

On a much more serious note, sorry for your loss to the posters above.

Well, I don't actually work in an office or around other people. But, I do have to be around people to do my job. That and public transit in Philly was reduced so much they cut half the bus routes altogether for now, so I couldn't work even if I had to.

I have to deal with customers every day, but atleast I have access to a car so I don't have to take the buss + train combo like I'd usually do.

The fucker is probably going to get a bonus this year, too. There's a lovely Dutch proverb about that, by the way: The Devil always defecates on the big pile.

The boss makes a dollar,
I make a dime.
That's why I poop

Idz! Hello, good sir. Hope you're doing well!

I prefer to ride public transit, but in this current situation, I'm somewhat leery of it. But, for now I'm not working and Gov. Wolf just extended our Stay at Home orders until May 8, so looks like I have even more time to do nothing. Which is fine. Really. Hopefully this all begins to end and everything can be reopened in an organized fashion with minimal risk to all.
