Hulldom: At some point, authors without real end goals for what they want to do turn their resolutions into shitposting.
I have a goal of promoting democracy, equitable competition, and readiness. Sep focuses on conduct during war. IA on liberalization of the economy and society.
I have no freaking clue with Minsk.

Made me think of the bit of dialogue in Rebel Without a Cause where Natalie Wood's character asks James Dean's character, "Where do you live?" and he answers, "Who lives?" No idea why, maybe zombies triggered that.

Don’t take it too personally mate. Hopefully nothing’s meant by it.
The forum in general has a medium to heavy liberal/progressive, atheistic, anti-police, democratic centralist focus. If you start any thread, expect to hear things analyzed from that viewpoint by some posters. There are other perspectives but know your audience and what to expect.
I know this forum by now, yes. I've even started to like it for whatever reason. But sometimes it's a little annoying, even though I kind of like it.

It fundamentally cannot be reconciled though.
You: “Christian teachings come first. My church is a decent/satisfactory/the best approximation for God’s laws and principles. Sometimes social policy should reflect this.”
Others: “Religion, especially organized religion, should be treated with a big grain of salt. Policy needs to be completely secularly-driven with a heavy emphasis on freedoms.” (Maybe a 75/25 split between hardcore atheists and those who identify with a religion but interpret it very very liberally with sayings like “you can’t know God’s mind” [well then what’s the point of religion?])
Who’s right? Well, who knows.
But at no point do these POVs intersect much.
And if the subject of cults is raised along with church affiliation, then that angle is going to be explored and these two world views are going to butt heads.

I assume this is in reference to me.
I honestly don't know anything about your church, other than what has been implied by your post history throughout the years. It's possible I am entirely mistaken about them. But I get the sense that a lot of the time I've argued with you, I've actually been arguing with them, through you.

It's kind of inevitable, yes. But I like my church and tend to take those sorts of things personally. Not that it really matters.

I dunno, I think it can be pulled off. You just need the confidence to lean into it.
