It's funny that you say 2012 was a great year for you, because it was me as well, and for quite a few people I know as well. Perhaps all of the goodwill and awesomeness got concentrated into that one year and now the rest of the decade was running on fumes? :p

Err.... I throw water. I was part of the ring, and we have this plastic shovel thingy that we are supposed to scoop and throw around at each other, while fixated in that seating/squatting position. We also get drums and lightsticks, and light tubes to form the ring, and to make a lot of noise. :P

Yeah, ironically for a year that was supposed to end... 2012 was excellent! ^^

I know cats usually hate that, but the only thing I can think of whenever I see a cat, is to ask the owners if the cat likes a belly rub. :3

Which is why I always thought that was a weird question to ask.

We have to make an essential trip to our neighboring state this morning. The area we’re going to has no reported cases of CoVID19, but I’m iffy AF about going.

Great news: two relatives of mine are returning home [from abroad].

Bad news: there's the whole "quarantine inside a tight house" thing to deal with.

My brother on the (Swedish) west coast wants to meet up. His tiny rural community has no cases, but my town does, and as healthy as I am I had to talk to him at length about the fact that I don't want to take any risks either getting or giving this thing - I do no traveling until the pandemic hasn't shown a sign around here for a safe amount of time.

How many are you in there?

At the moment, two of us; me & mum.

The two 'relatives': dad & a cousin.

And I forgot to mention that our international airports are to close at midnight on Tuesday.

Well, it's a bit of a double-edged sword, really. Currently I'm merrily papercrafting a bunch of buildings for 6mm miniature wargaming purposes, but for a proper game you are going to need an opponent, preferably in the same room as you.

That works with chess, but not with a game where you have a multitude of diverse miniatures, all of them with different stats, point values and characteristics. Not that I was enjoying games regularly before the pandemic, but still.

It's been so freaking long since I did this, you could show general character order and spacing, along with the orientation of the space, and do the dice rolls over a cam/voice setup

There's seriously not an online program for whatever ruleset you're using?

Undoubtedly, but an integral part of the hobby is to set up the table, put terrain on it to make it a challenging environment, and put those painted miniatures (unlike others, I do NOT field unpainted units) on the table for the battle to come.

It's quite different from online gaming.

But since you can do that with the resources you have (I presume, since this is your hobby), you can outsource the playing right now to a digital format and move your miniatures at home in accordance with the moves in the game if you like.
