Sort of, making a profit is not enough. Saudi Arabia relies almost entirely on oil/petrol based goods exports. It makes up roughly 90% of their economy. If they don't make it hefty profit on it than they're living on their savings. Admittedly Saudi arabia has been preparing for this but other members of OPEC haven't.

That's been OPEC ever since the 70s. The countries hit big time in the embargo, loved the 1979 Iranian Revolution, and never wanted to co-operate again if it meant giving up those sweet short-term oil monies.

OPEC barely influences its members oil policy anyway, except when the Saudis throw a fit.

Now's the time for peak neoliberalism to tie corporations and government together, so when it all falls down soon we can build and maintain our post government voluntaryist future.

Think of all the wagies who invested in stocks hoping to hit it big, only for this to happen.

My mans Brandon is probably screaming looking at his stocks.

I mean. As long as they don't sell right now, they'll be fine. Their dividends will be fucked for a little bit, but give it a wait. Maybe pick up some new stocks cheap.

Perhaps they can take solace in the fresh crop of boomer vs zoomer memes centred on the stock rollercoaster.

Now’s the time to buy up stock on companies that won’t completely collapse. Airlines, for example. Excellent investment

Global recession is still not guaranteed although it looks more likely right now. If it does happen, I recommend buying up stock, you’re essentially getting good companies at a discount. I did this in 2009, worked out splendidly

I've never been very knowledgeable about the stock market and the like, but this looks to me like just the start of something that's going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

A lot of people must be sweating pretty hard right now, and Trump may well join them if the economy continues to spiral closer to election day.

Yeah, jesus, not only dropped below 25K, which it didn't do through 8 months of protests but it looks to be rapidly sinking below 24K..
