Don’t cause a mask shortage for people who actually need masks.

It is probably better to cause a shortage, for those who want to try to get rich quick.

Step 1: Spread a ton of fake news/fear that the virus is airborne and that you have what they need.
Step 2: Get these people to your place of sales. Have the inventory.
Step 3: Separate them from their money however you can. It doesn't matter if the mask is useless to them later on, provided you made the sale.

I think the distinction "when its plentiful" is a bit ill defined. To use the example provided, making tomato paste ... mmm, I'll admit I just want a jar of your tomato paste. It's not corruption, it's anti corruption in fact, I need to check the paste has been bottled in a hygienic and safe way. Mmmm.

They are wearing masks as part of a multi-layer protective system while following strict protocols around replacement frequency and disposal method. Some bod just wearing a mask with their jeans and t-shirt is not doing any of the rest of the things that make up some protection from infection. This is really not that complicated....

So you think doctors and nurses have been wearing masks for decades because they believe they have coronavirus? Because that would be stupid.

No they wear masks because they understand that they come into contact with a lot of ill people, and there is a danger they expose people who are already ill to more infection. Medical staff are well aware they are constantly exposed to all manner of infections that may not have manifested yet, so they try not to be vectors of infection.

These masks are useless when it comes to protection. People 90% of the time wear it to prevent corona but it doesn't work or are actually sick. If you need real protection you need an actual respirator with the proper filter, not that you need it. Its not airborne.

Masks are like circumcision. Yes, it offers some protection, but not as much as people think. And that false sense of security causes people to become lax with superior ways to defend oneself against disease.
