When we have a monarchy that is fully capable of over riding all other aspects of the legal system why are we offering the OG incredibly dangerous mass murderer any possibility of getting out ever? Sure he may be needed but surely any offer is going to feature a lot of stick (she dies, you die plus or minus horrible torture options) and relatively little carrot (a variety of nicer things for the duration of your incarceration).

Also if all the magic parts of the bomb are dealt with and all that is left is simple electrical wiring then surely there are now a whole bunch of options for how to deal with the bomb.
Yes for the scenario to work you need a simple a or b choice but by bringing in magic you have made the options more or less infinite.
