We should refund everybody who wasted money on University, debt or no debt. We as a society lied to them and told them it would matter. Recent data shows it's statistically indistinguishable from zero for almost every demographic group except non-hispanic white heads of household born in the 1980s. We can't give them back the years of experience or wages they lost while going to school but we can make it right in some way. The issue is all current plans do not go far enough.

Some plans want Uncle Sam involved. This isn't the worst idea tbh. Uncle Sam is generally incompetent and incapable when it comes to determining educational priorities. This will both choke off the flow of money to bloated institutions and the amount students as we will have to ration who goes, plus it severely damage the unis themselves.
