Sorry but the word "contested" inserted in there does not make it right. 2000 was contested.

That's not contested. No one doubted Gore would be the nominee. SMH. And he won by an astounding landslide.

The reason the source didn't mention "contested" (although others do) is because the probably expect nuance. Of course incumbents have won every primary. They are a shoe in. And no 2000, was not contested.

Well I must say, you've burned your credibility to the ground. For nothing. I can't understand it.

I love how 6% of punters put their money down on Clinton. Presumably expecting something weird to happen at the convention?

Betting markets actually predicted Trump’s win in 2016 when everyone else predicted a loss

So, in a nutshell, it’s going to be an election between the two Russian-assisted candidates, meaning Putin picks the president

A contested convention is still quite likely (but noting my definition of "contested" includes 2016). Less likely but still possible is that the 2nd or 3rd place-getter gathers enough from the others and from automatic delegates to clinch the nomination.

The convention drafting someone who didn't even run, though? Maybe I should get some of that betting action. I wouldn't mind taking money off a conspiracy nut.

You said so before. It's a pretty dull point, since there's nothing either Trump or Sanders can do to stop the "assistance" you imagine.

Well, Nevada is two hours behind me; it's 9:52 here; it's 7:52 there. So, it's going to come in slowly but we should know Sunday or latest Monday. Hey, at least we got results.

Compared to Iowa, this is an improvement though the caucus system must be eliminated going forward regardless.

The fact that Iowa is the bar for Democrats is just sad.

I still like the second-choice provided by caucuses. Hopefully those states eliminating caucuses go to ranked-choice voting so people are still free to vote for minor candidates without having their vote thrown away by failing to reach 15%.

Regarding Nevada, it seems the 15% theshold is applied by congressional district. This means that candidates currently polling around 10% statewide might still get delegates. If they exceed 15% in one or more districts.

Perils of going first.

There's an argument that they screwed up so badly they should lose the right to go first.

Oh it is sad, but hey, Sanders won so that's something for Sanders supporters to celebrate.

Of course they're going to celebrate winning the popular vote.

Sanders actually came second. Buttigieg got the most delegates.
