I don't see why we should fall for that. Putin is probably backing both, for the same reason lobbyists give to both sides. To try to curry favor with whoever wins.

That's not contested. No one doubted Gore would be the nominee. SMH. And he won by an astounding landslide.

The reason the source didn't mention "contested" (although others do) is because the probably expect nuance. Of course incumbents have won every primary. They are a shoe in. And no 2000, was not contested.
