I was going for more recent examples, but yes, he was. My only recollection right now of what he did in his term as Governor is how he dealt with the Black Panthers. Which wasn't great.

But as I said, run for a lesser office first, rather then using "I'm a celebrity" to piggyback into the big job. Prove you don't choke in politics altogether in the lesser roles first, then I'd say it's not a disqualifier.

I have split ticket but haven't done so in several years as there hasn't;t been a single Republican I could vote for.
