There shouldn't even be the concept of party registration, like my state. My states new system you just have to write your party preference. We should be expanding democracy any way we can, not shrinking it.

I'm assuming Sanders will win New Hampshire since he's been leading in the polls there for about a month. Meanwhile, I'd like it if the Iowa Democratic party could stop delaying releasing the full results already. Currently stuck at 87% after almost two days is kinda ridiculous.

The Bolivian presidential election had far fewer irregularities than this and the US's solution for that was to back a Fascist coup with one of its three-letter acronym organizations.

I wonder how the US'll respond to this obvious crisis of democracy in Iowa.

Because it's an antiquated thing and god forbid we break tradition. If it's made a Federal Holiday, Government workers would be the ones getting off (and schools), not the average worker. Thus, I think it should be moved to a Saturday or a Sunday. Of course, Republicans wouldn't like either as that would hurt them at the ballot box I would think; they don't like a lot of voter reforms actually.

And yet people call us crazy conspiracists when we say they're rigging it.

It would mostly be because of the lack of solid evidence beyond "The shitty inefficient Caucus system isn't favoring Bernie as much this time as it did in 2016...it must be a set up!", aka the general continuation of Sanders supporters insisting that flaws and problems that have been a common complaint in elections for years/decades is actually something that the "Establishment" just now invented specifically to stop the Sanders revolution.

The idiocy with the app and the decision to report multiple sets of results has compounded things, but delays and errors and arguments about actual counts has been a feature of Caucuses since...always. Remember when it took the Iowa GOP two weeks to figure out who won the 2012 Caucuses? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

While I don’t find the latter to be impossible, I do also keep the phrase “never attribute malice to that which can be explained by stupidity” in mind.

This isn't the DNC, it's the Iowa Democratic Party, there is a difference. And the real take away from this is that Iowa's Always First Snowflake status needs to be revoked ASAP.

Because thanks to all the media attention and hype that comes solely from that fact..we now have people insisting that there's obviously some vast conspiracy where the DNC is embracing public humiliation and disarray at the start of the critical campaign to unseat Trump all because they're terrified that if Bernie Sanders gets 15 or 16 of Iowa's whopping 41 delegates instead of 12 or 13, he'll be totally unstoppable!
