Teared up when the news broke.

RIP Kobe Bryant. The man was transcendent with a basketball and had just started his efforts to help the underprivileged, especially minorities. He had so much to give still.

Rip to his daughter Gigi and the other victims. 41 is young, but 13 is purely unfair. I wish the lord would never let it happen.

Several of the other fatalities were member's of Gigi's basketball team.

I agree dying at 13 is fucking bullshit. It is unjust its unfair for all those girls and their families. When I question the ordering of the Universe things like this come to mind.

It's not a contest or a zero-sum game. As the Very Reverend Mr. Donne wrote, "No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were; any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee. He was one hell of a player, and it's tragic for him, his deceased daughter, and especially his family. Not to mention the other seven passengers, all of whom likely also have families that are suffering.

I remember watching him and shaq kick ass on the court. This was unexpected. Back in the day he was almost like our lebron james or Michael Jordan. One of the greatest guards to ever play the sport.

God I can't imagine what his wife and siblings are going through right now, to lose both a father/husband and a sister/daughter. God this world is fucking cruel.

Yes, he settled the case and part of the settlement was an apology.

Agreed, even his death is sad and unnecessary. It's this pillar of the free world stuff I am objecting too

Sadly every adult has their own dirt, especially when you reach such wealth. Honestly no one is a pillar of the free world, because for that we would need Captain America himself. And even then Cap had his own problems too.

While I'm a far nicer person as an adult than I was as a teen, I too still couldn't call myself a pillar of the free world. There's alot I don't like about myself
