Personal attacks are frowned upon and only portray your point in a bad light. Capitalization is also needed if you want people to take anything you're saying seriously.

feel free to (anyone for that matter) have me explain any part or in full, just don't an ass (left wing) about it.

Left-wingers put in laws giving more Civil Rights. Right-wingers tend to be more economic and also tend to follow the Bible pretty strictly. Neither side is being an ass. Also, capitalization.

Get the picture? Also, don't type in all caps, either. This is NS, not Facebook.

I did not blame either left or right wing politics, merely observed that your particular position -blaming diversity-is a fairly standard right wing view.

I can't be bothered to explain anything more to you since you seem to be off your meds or that time of the month

Oh, that's a good one. I must either be crazy, or a woman. So let's see, you dislike "diversity" and you happily discriminate against the mentally ill and women. Any other groups you'd like to attack?

feel free to (anyone for that matter) have me explain any part or in full, just don't an ass (left wing) about it.

Ha ha. Yeah, because only the "left wing" can be asses. Oh wait, didn't you just say left right wing politics had nothing to do with it?

You seem to think your problem is that you are not "explaining," and that anyone who disagrees with your blaming of diversity just doesn't understand/is a woman/is crazy/is left wing/is an ass. No, the problem is that your position is utter nonsense. People did not walk past that man because of "diversity." They each had a choice, and chose wrong due to the herd behavior, the "someone else will be the responsible one and call the cops" nature of humanity.

It really looks like you just wanted to rail against "diversity" and decided this was somehow a good example of the evils thereof.

You know, I remember reading about a similar incident in which a woman was supposedly attacked by a man in full view of 28 people. She was stabbed repeatedly, screaming, the whole nine yards, and according to news reports not a single person intervened or called the cops.

Steven Levitt takes a look at this incdent in Super Freakonomics, and it turns out that the tale of bystanders looking the other way in this case was bogus. It was made up by a news organization who thought it would sell better, and the actual witnesses of the incident called the police (who didn't respond nearly as fast as they should have) and yelled out the window for the guy to stop attacking her. When she picked herself and walked unsteadily to the door, they assumed she was alright.

Also, it was nighttime. Ergo, it was hard to see clearly what was going on.

My point? Two things: 1) don't believe everything the news tells you to since they're just trying to attract customers, and 2) humans are not as cold and heartless as you'd think.

Might edit this later for details, once available.

I don't know if anyone pointed out before, but this happened in New York.

Isn't that kind of expected?
