Say hello to Cheddar Man, the oldest complete human remains ever found on the island of Britain, dated to ca 9,100 BP. Thanks to DNA analysis it has been determined that he had dark wavy hair, green eyes, lactose intolerance, and dark skin.

I'm amazed that there are human population like this that no longer exist. His skin is dark and his hair is wavy but his eyes are blue. His facial features don't comfortably align with that of any modern phenotype. Truly lost to history. I wonder if the light skinned and light hair genes in the British aisles really arrived with the Indo European migrants?

Light skin seems to have arrived with the popularity of agriculture. A farming diet is less rich than a hunter-gatherer diet. Vitamin D deficiency probably only became frequent problem when the switch was made to more-plentiful, less-nutritious staple crops.

If you're a red haired Pamiri with pale skin and green eyes, you aren't white cause you live in Tajikstan. If you're a dark colored Andalusian, you're not white because you don't look European enough and must be either a mongrel of some kind or a full blooded alien to the continent. In other words, the only people who are guaranteed to definitely be white in Sai's worldview are Northwestern Europeans.

This seems to be the case, with europeans and northeast asians having light skin while Africans, Southeast Asians and central American natives have darker skin
