I was wondering when this would become a thing.

Those supernumerary trainee nurses were the ones holding the hand of many of the dead in this crisis because they were not performing "vital" services. And they get to live with that. I'm a little annoyed by the reply to her letter.

What a load of dogshit. Student nurses perform vital functions in the NHS, doing the things that the other nurses aren't doing themselves because they don't have time, such as keeping the patient charts up to date with the heart rate and temperature checks by doing the rounds around the wards etc, without a qualified nurse supervising them.

Tory voters should stay home and clap for the Tories on election day.

Police Scotland have released the name of the officer seriously injured during a stabbing attack at a Glasgow hotel.

He is Constable David Whyte, 42. He is being treated in hospital and his condition has been described as "critical but stable".

If they can't turn their work connections into a way to obtain a multi billion dollar contract from the government then they're just lazy. Society doesn't owe nurses a paycheck.

Oh come on NCR, don´t you know kids banging pans together sends positive vibes to the healthcare workers which totally substitutes for the actual government support they need and quite frankly deserve?

It's mostly a way of keeping the optics obsessed and frankly deranged media busy, like jangling your keys. I don't think the Tories actually expect voters to buy any of it or take it seriously. It's just supposed to keep the chattering classes busy rather than having them cause some more social catastrophes out of their need to stay relevant and cause controversy and division.

And in that respect I support it. If we can just go out and clap for a minute every day at 8pm to get journalists to all fuck off for a while by reporting on something banal rather than actively destroying the country then that seems to me to be an unquestionable positive.

Obviously the Tories aren't going to fund the NHS more. They're Tories. This is not news to anyone.

Without this sort of vapid shit to take up the topic the media would be out there trying to demonize some group or other and dividing people as usual, and if you think they'd ever respond with "Well it needs to be funded so let's fund it", you're having a laugh. They'd start sneering about how people drink too much or smoke too much or some other shit, or go crazy about how a certain demographic isn't obeying quarantine rules as well as the others, or some other bollocks.

They exist purely to defend the wealthy and sow chaos and division while undermining any form of community or cohesion through psychological warfare. If inane positivity stops them doing that, then that's fine with me.

Once you understand they're a hostile occupying force then your approach to it differs. Sort of useless to operate in good faith with them once you recognize the pattern. Like if you complained to the cops about cops doing crime, and their response was always to launch an immediate witch hunt against the public and burn down some buildings while rounding up people into camps. Eventually you just realize, fuck it, no point.

Smile for the cameras.

Because if you don't...

It's pointless to try and use the british media to achieve anything positive. They're an enemy to be organized against from outside their system and eventually destroyed.

plurality with first-past-the-post is, again, best for republicanism. proportional is stable and it appeases tensions, apart, it is not democratic.

first-past-the-post feeds tensions, less stable, yet it is the most republican form of the state.

yet true best-of, which derives from a local, direct election of the representative is consent of true govern of events, through citizen’s will.

since harshness of first-past-the-post fights political vice of the present era, which is absurd self-interest of people that makes each status quo a fortress.

But it was the Tory Government that latched on to it as a way to show their support to the NHS, rather than actually putting more money into it. And with them now saying student nurses did nothing during the corona-virus is a betrayal to them saying they support the NHS.

This is why I didn't clap for the NHS, because I support them by not voting Tory.

Hahahahahahahah!

If they were going to implement new nurses, why didn't they automatically hire the student nurses that were thrown onto the front line during the height of the epidemic?
