Yeah, I saw it. But it's a bit different when find out you actually know some of the poor bastards having to make those calls.

Death is always such an abstract concept until you are faced with these types of decisions.

Why not just lock down the old people and those known to have Covid-19 and let the rest of the country go back to normal?

1. Cases can by asymptomatic or take a week or two to manifest symptoms.

2. There is not enough testing kits to test everyone.

Basically that is a really bad idea.

Bloody social calendar chucked down the loo for summer. Can't even go to the pub to get pissed and make everything feel slightly better till the morning.
On the plus side Corbyn is gone and has been replaced by Sir Keir Starmer, so obviously Labour haven't learnt any lessons. Or they're just long term planning and know that demographics are ultimately in their favour anyway...

Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner winning leader and deputy respectively will help Labour achieve much more.

As much as I did like Corbyn, he was not direct enough in general.

Although, after the election, the media sure fell silent on him.

How would Keir Starmer having a knighthood be a negative?

Aside from that, I'm pleased you know the Tories are about to drive off a cliff. Most young Conservatives just ignore that, so it's quite refreshing.

There is no sickness, no toil, nor danger, in that bright land to which I go

I know dark clouds will gather 'round me, I know my way is hard and steep
But beauteous fields arise before me, where God's redeemed, their vigils keep

Young, healthy individuals with no preexisting conditions, including babies and children, have been known to die of the Wuhan virus, while elderly, asymptomatic carriers have been known to exist. The virus affects different people in different ways regardless of age.

Why not? It's broadly how we eliminated other diseases, and Germany is making good progress in that direction.

We can't even get to 100k tests a week. There are over 70 million people in Britain. How on earth can this happen? It would require increases in production capacity that don't exist.
