There was an article on the BBC news about the triage types of decisions that medical staff are needing to make during the current pandemic.

Yeah, I saw it. But it's a bit different when find out you actually know some of the poor bastards having to make those calls.

...because it is known that people can be asymptomatic carriers and still be passing it on to others. So no. Until we can test the entire populace the measures need to stay.

1. Cases can by asymptomatic or take a week or two to manifest symptoms.

2. There is not enough testing kits to test everyone.

Basically that is a really bad idea.

Young, healthy individuals with no preexisting conditions, including babies and children, have been known to die of the Wuhan virus, while elderly, asymptomatic carriers have been known to exist. The virus affects different people in different ways regardless of age.
