Nicola Sturgeon not told about Boris Johnson's planned visit

THE First Minister was not told of Boris Johnson’s plans to visit to Scotland this week, in what is being described as an “act of gross discourtesy” by one of her predecessors.

Nicola Sturgeon learned of the Prime Minister’s trip in the coming days only when she read the press articles about it on her 50th birthday on Sunday, it is understood.

The Scottish Government told The National yesterday – 24 hours after the reports of the visit were published – that it had no information.

A source said: “We have had no official confirmation of any visit, as yet.”

Henry McLeish, the former Labour First Minister, attacked the lack of notification by Downing Street to the First Minister and suggested it was the type of behaviour displayed by US President Donald Trump.

Especially given that the Russians were more open about trying to mess with that one to make a point about Crimea.

Apparently the vote was invalid in their eyes because one of the counting rooms was too big or something like that.

Also back in the day DC tried to solicit Russian support against the indyref. He literally did the same thing Trump did.

Research (sorry for the link) shows 75% of people want the NHS excluded from trade deals -- this may be enough to make to Tories unelectable. This will not prevent the next four years (at least) being shit if the Tories go through with this horrid idea.

If it happens it'll happen so slowly a lot of people won't notice.

Just appropriate the public assets they sell off without compensation, and make it clear this is eternal labour policy for any public asset sold without referendum. "Buyers beware, Conservatives sell faulty goods. You will lose your money.".

They can't keep Labour out of office literally forever, so it becomes an inevitability that makes their behavior impossible. If they cry about it, point out it's the left wing equivalent of what they are doing, which is wrecking maneuvers designed to undermine even the possibility of state assets, since any attempt to build them results in the Tories selling them off for cheap to their mates. So, we should do a wrecking maneuver designed to undermine even the possibility of the privatization of state assets.

Make the billionaire class realize collaboration with the Tories on this kind of stuff will just see their money go up in smoke and society wont tolerate it.

This is more likely to be saleable in the event they try and privatize the NHS, but can be applied across the board as part of the backlash. Just seize the railways, NHS, mail and so on back for the public and do not pay a penny for them.

They'll scream and howl about it disincentivizes investment and so on, but we can just point out "That's the point. We don't want this kind of investment happening. We want it disincentivized. Billionaires too thick to understand the difference between this and other forms of investment are not a loss. They can go be a problem for some other country, preferably one we actually want weakened.".

The best hot takes are the extremely illegal ones, and I'm not even just talking about UK law here.

Got to increase revenue by selling the NHS without raising taxes. However can the Tories pay for their additional 150 F-35s.

MP John Finucane says he will not be deterred by loyalists telling him 'he's not welcome'

Finucane, who is MP for North Belfast after the 2019 election showed up to a protest over an illegal waste dump and was met by a loyalist community worker who told him he was not welcome and was asked to leave.

The loyalist community worker in question, called Winston Irvine, was a commander in the UVF. Friendly reminder the UVF threated the UUP in North Belfast if they didnt pull their candidate after their refused to form a pact with the DUP for the 2019 election.

Wish these twats would all just fuck off once and for all.

Jeremy Corbyn could face legal action after criticising Labour antisemitism apology

The ex-Labour leader describes the party's decision to apologise to whistleblowers as a "political decision, not a legal one".

Jeremy Corbyn could be facing legal action after the ex-Labour leader claimed the party's decision to pay a journalist damages risked "giving credibility to misleading and inaccurate allegations".

The Labour Party on Wednesday apologised to a group of whistleblowers who contributed to a TV investigation into its handling of antisemitism claims under Mr Corbyn's leadership.

Seven former employees from Labour's governance and legal unit - who contributed to a BBC Panorama programme - had sued the party after it issued a press release describing them as having "personal and political axes to grind".

It followed the programme's broadcast in July 2019.

The response to the coronavirus pandemic shows the might of the union. I must admit I knew the union was shaky after the Brexit referendum result, but I didn't realise it was in quite as bad a shape as the Johnson government's response to the virus pandemic.

This isn't just my opinion, the Commons Public Accounts Committee is describing the UK's pandemic planning as an astonishing failure.
