To put that number in perspective - there are roughly 39000 pubs in the UK. I know not all pubs opened (my closest one for example did not), so lets assume maybe 20000 opened? 3 isn't exactly high. However..

No, this is what happens when people actually live up to that trust: the question you want to be asking is how many people didn't tell anybody that they'd been to a pub.

Sure, that's possible. More likely however we also know that there is evidence most people who catch Covid have zero symptoms - so assuming 3 people had symptoms and reported them to the pub, we can guesstimate that number is closer to 15. Lets triple it applying Salandriagados cynicism of humanity as a starting point and assuming other people developed symptoms in the 5 day window since going to the pub. 45 is still not quite that high.

How serious these closures are depends on numerous factors. How busy the pubs were, if most people were able to enjoy beers outside etc. Personally, I think the risk is pretty low. We know that the fears of widespread disorder were generally exaggerated, and that most areas were pretty quiet - with the exception of Londoners in Soho - but then we saw similar crowds of similar demographics of crowds in London a few weeks prior with little evidence of a second outbreak.

We probably won't know until Thursday or Friday - I understand it's 5 days for symptoms to develop, and given the normal bureaucracy there is a delay in reporting.

Well then those people are acting moronically for going out and getting wasted in public during a pandemic when you should be social distancing, something that one will likely not do when drunk. Either way those going out to pubs and not social distancing do not come out in a favorable light.
