do you even know how trade works

tarrifs and borders are more legal barriers them physical ones

you cant get around them with physical tunnels without completely undermining them, in which case they may as well not exist

I do know how trade works. I don't support any borders or tariffs aside from a hard border in Ireland with an underground tunnel, because tunnels are good.

And this is not even getting into the political ramifications of what it would mean for there to be a hard boarder between NI and Ireland. I am no expert on Irish politics but something tells me violating the good Friday agreement like that is going to piss off a lot of people.

Calling the new social distancing rule 1m Plus just sounds so much safer than just calling it 1m. ;)

Wish I could ask a question at the briefing about whether now we can all flock back to model villages that 1m is to scale or not.
Everything is intertwinkled

You can go to the model villages but all model people have to social distance by the scale equivalent of 1 meter plus unless they live in the same household.

Conserative Morality wrote:"It's not time yet" is a tactic used by reactionaries in every era. "It's not time for democracy, it's not time for capitalism, it's not time for emancipation." Of course it's not time. It's never time, not on its own. You make it time. If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. If the fields aren't furrowed, plow them. If the iron is not hot, make it so. If society is not ready, change it.

Yes, but only in England, they are even dangling the carrot of relaing anti-social distancing to 1 meter because 2 meters makes those places impossible to function, likewise, only in England.

Mark Drayford is gauleiter of Wales. He loathes pubs, he will never permit them to open.

Does lead me to wonder what would have happened with this lockdown if everyone (including business owners) had just been like 'yeah, okay dude' and ignored it. Now that's a country I could be proud of.

ask moderation about reading serious moderation candidates TGs without telling them about it until afterwards and/or apparently refusing to confirm/deny the exact timeline of TG reading ~~~ i hope you never sent any of the recent mods or the ones that got really close anything personal!

signature edit: confirmation has been received. they will explicitly do it before and without asking. they can look at TGs basically whenever they want so please keep this in mind when nominating people for moderator or TGing good posters/anyone!

Lockdown prevented around half a million deaths. Very weird that you'd be proud of a country with an extra half million corpses in it...
