May he Rest In Peace. I am a fan of his Mediaeval Lives series, in which he talks about and shows how different people, like peasants, monks, damsels and knights (to name a few) possibly lived during the Middle Ages. It was an entertaining series.

As a Python, he wasn't my favourite. His main gag seemed to be frocking up.

His work directing the Python movies was great. Adapting the MP skit form to movies, with sudden changes of cast and scene, brought MP to a much wider audience.

I find the original MPFC a bit hard to take now, they hammer each joke a bit too hard, but the movies have aged very well indeed.

After MP, Jones spent his career making rather duff movies, but I guess they were popular.

Isn't he the pastor from the United States who threatened to burn thousands of copies of the Qur'an ten years ago? That's who I think of when I hear the name Terry Jones. Probably not a pleasant guy to deal with in person, but I can respect him tremendously for having the courage to do what few people can only dream of doing and staring down death threats, where countless others have been killed in the process. It takes balls to loudly and publicly criticize Islam and call out religiously inspired violence, intolerance and ignorance while so-called "progressives" like then-President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and David Petraeus who pretend to be for free speech and democracy defend the indefensible by siding with religious extremists and condemn those who defend actual freedom of speech as "Islamophobic" racist bigots.

As for the other Terry Jones, he's obviously the Messiah (because he denies his heritage), which means he'll be back. Eventually. Requiescat in pace.
