What is the morality of solitary confinement due to having the Coronavirus? There have been a few small protests over this I believe

We should all be mostly fine. Our government is testing people for the virus on the daily, many of whom are testing negative, others being quarantined as a proper precaution (even if it's unsure if they have it). Point is - there really aren't many people roaming the streets of the US carrying this virus.

Although we should have shut down travel with the PRC much sooner, and banned all PRC animal and meat imports (well all food and long before this really, SARS and the Avian Flu were also the result of the PRC’s atrocious food safety) actually the CDC seems to be doing a pretty good job detecting and isolating cases here.

What about goods arriving from China?

Not food: clothing, shoes, consumer electronics.

What happens if an infected person had cough near those objects?

Problem being that I have a Xiaomi Black Shark arriving from Shenzhen: ordered on 21, departed on 23 January, it's late since it was blocked at customs due to problems with the invoice. They do not believed that it costs only 4 dollars and therefore does not have to pay any import tax ;) . But then they convinced themselves that it only costs 4 dollars, so it left for its trip just today according to the tracking, but the problem of the virus remains and indeed could be even made worse by the fact that the phone remained so long under consideration at the internal exchange center with the package open and examined by various people.

What I’ve heard is that the virus doesn’t survive in surfaces outside for very long. But if in doubt, spray the crap out of the electronic with disinfectant. Use gloves, wipe it with alcohol wipes.

I suppose you work in Finland, not in Shenzhen.

It's not about being Chinese or European, it's about being in a place where there's the virus: Shenzhen is the second place when it comes at the spreading of the virus, just after Wuhan.

If the goods would be arriving from Singapore or Taiwan I wouldn't mind so much, since the virus is extremely rare there (compared to Shenzhen).

What does that have to do with anything?
It is not an ethnic thing.

Nobody is saying only Chinese people can spread the virus.

Just that the virus is a big problem in the PRC controlled parts of Chiba.

Well I do not think it can live long outside of organic tissue.
You bigger concern is Xiaomi will give all your data to the PRC government.
You bought a piece of spyware.

Yes. Xiaomi stores all their data on servers in the PRC, that the PRC government has free and open access to. No warrants, no judges.

You basically are giving your data to their secret police.
That is a much higher risk than getting a natural virus from it.

Money presumably. WHO is run by world governments, each having and equal vote regardless of size, and of course the PRC has their financial and economic claws in many of the world governments.
