China has reported 139 new cases of pneumonia, caused by the outbreak of a new coronavirus strain that medical experts are still struggling to understand, with the first cases being reported Beijing.

Beijing’s Daxing health commission confirmed two new cases of coronavirus on Monday.

In the southern Guangdong province which borders Hong Kong, the health commission confirmed one case of the illness. They are the first instances of the virus spreading to Chinese cities outside Wuhan, where cases were first discovered.

It came as Wuhan authorities said a third person had died in the city.

As ever the government downplays the issue hoping it goes away and therefore puts ever more people at risk. The culture of fear in reporting bad news is a real issue for the CCP.

I don’t actually believe in that. Didn’t I repeat that Ashkenazi Jews are the best tribe in the world, followed by Germanics? We are at upper Mediterranean level which is good but still not as good as the French for now. With the complex and authoritarian families dismantled things should gradually improve.

It is obvious that antisemitism is inherently Mugabist in nature and any antisemitic argument can be automatically dismissed due to the fact. If a society gets jealous and gets rid of its Ashkenazi Jews it does not deserve compassion when worse off tribes later get rid of them under the same banner of egalitarianism.

I will not disrespect Ashkenazi Jews, ancient Rome or other civilization greater than NE Asia at the same time. Instead I show them respect and learn from them so that NE Asians can become stronger which will be beneficial to not only ourselves but also the rest of the world. In a world in which Germanics are getting corrupted it is duty of the NE Asian race to humanity to pick up the cultural treasure the Germanic left casually discards and improve & innovate based on them.

If the West or Israel collapses I will cry for them and then take up their mantle for if we don’t, who will? Nobody other than the NE Asian race can succeed Germanics if they collapse. We have to learn from the old Germanics (i.e. before 1960s) so that their cultural treasure remain even if they are terminally corrupted.

I don't think this is cause for alarm, just the standard protocols in airports, etc. that would be taken in case of an epidemic, investigate the necessary treatment, and that's it. Easier said than done though.

Ebola was a lot different, though because it is much more difficult to contract and is not airborne. The coronaviruses are, of course, the source of the vast majority of viruses that cause the common cold.

Someone did the maths on the probability of the claims against the fact it's spread in China and, more pertinently, the likelihood that two people in that market would travel to Japan and Thailand separately.. the numbers don't stack up. This is clearly being vastly under-reported.

We don't know how it's contracted, we don't know how it's spreading and we don't know how it's evolving.

True, but SARS had a 10% mortality rate which puts it on the low end for the mortality rate of the Spanish Flu if this coronavirus has a similar mortality rate. If the 1,700 estimated cases cited in the OP is correct that would put it at about 25% of the cases from SARS and on track to outpace cases from MERS.

It's hit South Korea now..

South Korea reported on Monday its first confirmed case of a new coronavirus that has broken out in China, Reuters reports, citing South Korea’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC).

The patient is a 35-year-old Chinese woman and resident of Wuhan, China who flew from Wuhan to Incheon international airport on Sunday, KCDC was quoted as saying in a statement.

She was isolated on entering South Korea with symptoms including high fever.

“The confirmed patient was identified in the quarantine phase and there is no community exposure. Those that have come in contact, including passengers and aircraft crew, are currently being investigated,” KCDC said. It did not give details of the woman’s flight.

Ironically HK may be safer this time round since people aren't visiting from Mainland China..
