Yes, pneumonia can cause shortness of breath and exertion with such can cause collapse. It's certainly a dangerous virus, but it's not particularly deadly. Tbf, I have confidence in the medical system to find a way to treat it or vaccinate for it pretty rapidly. We're much better prepared for this sort of thing than we were in 1920.

It's a city of 9 million people and it is being quarantined. Public transport is shutdown, police are urging everyone in to stay inside, and a lethal virus is spreading like the flu. It's like a horror-disaster flick, except its real. While the official number is 26, it can easily be much much higher as I wouldn't put it past the Chinese government to try to downplay it as much as possible. They even lie about the air quality and the temperature on hot days.
