It is a fairly new disease so the name is not firmly set. What name sticks and becomes the term used in common parlance remains to be seen.
Naming diseases for country and region of location is fairly common nomenclature. From the Spanish flu in 1919 to Middle East Respiratory Syndrome in 2011.
