If we're being fussy, Covid-19 is the disease, whereas SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome - CoronaVirus 2) is the virus that causes it, much like HIV is the virus and AIDS is the disease.

It wasn’t. Someone explained why it came to be called that earlier in the thread. Something about freedom of reporting about it since Spain was neutral during WWI.

It didnt originate in America though. If it did, and Trump messed things up and it spread elsewhere, it would be the American flu.

It is a Chinese virus. It comes from china. This is just a fact. It isn't racist because it has nothing to do with chinese people, because anyone can get the virus and most of the victims at this point are probably not even Chinese.
