Small scale landlords are exactly who I'm thinking about here. They're being given a break on their mortgage payments. They won't lose the properties they're renting out.

Are the landlords still responsible for maintenance?

Yes, and as such I would suggest that any such costs they incur during this emergency be covered by the government. Doesn't do to tell everyone to stay a home and then have the place become uninhabitable.

I'm confident that I can handle being negatively effected if it means renters in this country stop being made to line the pockets of their landlords at a this time of crisis.

Uh, people should still be paying rent? A lot of landlords don't outright own their properties, many choose to go as far as to lease them out from the developers themselves.

Rent assistance is crucial right now, as is the government offering income assistance to really any and all people below the middle class, but we shouldn't go as far as to say "don't pay your rent."

That would be nice, yes, but I think I'm being quite reasonable in thinking that when people who pay mortgages are getting a break then it is only fair for people who pay rent to also get the same break.

- There was no water.
- And the entire aisle for toilet and tissue paper was completely fucking empty.

So then I tried Walmart a few blocks away.
- Same exact shit. My family's almost out of dish soap and drinking water.
