this pretty much. Been saying that all the time. the idea of lockdowns is to keep the number of extreme cases manageable by health care system and the deat rate low.

Notably, this is why Italy's death rate has been climbing. A lot of people in italy are dying right now that could have been saved, if their healthcare system hadn't been completely drowned by volume of the critically ill.

Right now, doctors are choosing who lives and who dies, based on the limited and equipment available. They've literally waived their final exams for med students and rushed them into practice. They are throwing literally everything they have at the problem, and doctors are still facing the problem of:

Maria, the 45 year old mother; Frank the 19 year old fresh out of high school; Giuseppe, the 75 year old grandfather; and Sofia, the 10 year old child.

All of your actions have a ripple effect. If you’re nice to someone, and you make them happy, they’ll be in a better mood when they meet other people. When they smile at others, they bring happiness to others. They might bring light to someone who has had a terrible day. That smile from the person you smiled at might keep another person from quitting their job or killing themselves.

This is a simplification, but your actions are always linked to people you don’t know. That’s why we should spread kindness.

Banks make there profit predictions based on expected returns, one of the most important of these is people paying their mortgage payments month on month, or if they don't the bank having some way to either force them too or seize a valuable asset. Without that ability one of the most important pieces in banking falls, and so banks are left in a less predictable and less rewarding position than they once were. Thus, banks stop giving credit as without an end date they don't know when they'll even start to see a return on that credit. Thus, 2007.
