What are your plans for Canada Day?

We have a day off, it's the snappily titled - Special Administrative Region Establishment Day here in Hong Kong, apparently there's going to be a march for democracy, which I'm entirely not going to join, I suspect I'll head out to an island and try and catch some surf,

Me? I'll probably go for drinks and then to the beach with friends. That's about it.

It's really hard to do anything special on a stat holiday that falls mid-week, unless you take the surrounding days off for holiday time.

I'm not sure if the Liquor stores ever reached an agreement, but I kind of hope they're still on strike, since their will be fewer rowdy drunks downtown.

Clever of them. I saw the front page of the paper yesterday asking for a truce with the union for Canada Day, so it wouldn't ruin the celebrations.

Oh well, as long as I can see some fireworks somewhere and grab a bite to eat on the way, I'm happy.
