Thus Alnair wept bitterly, lamenting the notes which had begun to fade from his memory. He, who had composed the world's first poem upon spying a gazelle and who had played the world's first song upon encountering a dove perched upon a moringa, in beauty, now found only suffering and longing. Such it must be for all among the djinn, souls of flame and ash slowly dwindling to cinders in the elder days of the world."

Vaping is less bad for you than cigarettes in all likelihood but you probably shouldn't make a habit of it if you care about your respiratory and cardiovascular health. It still has carcinogens in it and you're still breathing foreign materials into your lungs.

Diop comes home. He hangs his hat up. A long day spent at the office writing out the death warrants by hand has taken his toll. The boiled ham and lightly scraped mustard sandwich for lunch wasn't enough. He feels the rumble in his stomach. Food.
Food comes from Woman. He recoils, hands clenching, remembering — he may now have to touch Woman. He runs a hand through his head, dried pieces of brylcreem fall to the floor, and he steadies himself by the door.
Yet, he can hear nothing. No children. No Woman. No radio, even.
Slowly, with a weight to his step, he proceeds to the kitchen. Rarely he enters this dark and fallen realm, but his curiosity — and hunger — has peaked him. The sun is slowly setting and throwing a picket fence shadow over the garden, and, yet, still he can hear nothing.
There, he spots her; Woman, sitting, back hunched, feet splayed out over the floor; dinner, cold, unattended, tiny spots of grease still living past their due rent date across the cooker hood. What on earth...
In her hands, a black box. It thrashes with noise and colour. Diop covers his face; he has heard of his heresy, and heard of its power to crack a man's eyeballs. 'What in God's name —' he starts, but does not need to finish; on the kitchen table there is a box, alien pictures splashed over its colourful cover: ANIMAL CROSSING.
They have crept behind him, soft feet on a hard floor. The two children. One Boy, one other thing. He turns, hand raised over mouth. No.
They speak together. 'Father, will you play animal crossing with us?'
He drops to one knee. No. Not here. Not his household. Not his castle. No. No. No-ooooooooooooooo

And he smoked 20 unfiltered cigarettes a day for most of his life.
I smoke probably too much but I am in perfect health and the chance of me dying abnormally to something like a car crash, lightning strike or chav attack is exactly the same as any fit and healthy person, so — up yours, "science."
