Although poorly conceived failure and shipwreck might match this thread better... :p
The Yamato could never hit anything and was good only at sinking after all.

Hence the suggestion that the Yamato be the thread's official floating hotel, emphasis on hotel.

For Aquaman?

It does not float. :p
Our inability to breath underwater makes it unsuitable even for that purpose.

Yeah I guess you could argue many of our members seem to live in a the past, but pretending it is the 1930s will not help you breath underwater. :?

I have some minor technical quibbles about the logic of that series...

Namely that even if the requisite technology existed, and actually made sense, how a destroyed pile of rust would actually be the most logical thing to convert into a spaceship... :eyebrow:

Why not just use the chad Iowas instead? Over virgin pile of tetanus? 8)

(After some reading to appears that it was retconned after it was discovered that of course the Yamato was not sitting upright, intact but was in fact just two separate piles of rust, that the “sunken Yamato” in the series was just a decoy, and thus it would not, in fact be the Yamato at all but an entirely new ship designed to externally resemble it).

Well, I can imagine that the Traditional Monarchists here on RWDT are flipping out on Prince Harry being seduced by Meghan Markle out of Buckingham. This event will forever be a shock to British society, and maybe will be the first step in the decline of the British monarchy....

Prince Harry isn't even going to be king, so I don't see what it matters if he wants to live more privately. Plenty of royal family members do.

The monarchy has been through far worse, and will be fine.

The guy basically has no luck of inheriting, and titles don't come with estates, just let the guy live his life lmao. Members of the nobility marry left-handedly all the time and that doesn't threaten the institution, why would a single step further threaten it?

He should be appointed Governor General of Canada or something like that and the problem is ez-pz fixed and done with. He can be in Canada and being useful, and is out of the royal drama. Also the basic salery is $288,900 (CAD) annually.

That is pretty brilliant really. Or at Lieutenant Governor of one of the provinces to start. Plus the job requires little real work.

If the abdication of Edward VIII to marry an American divorcee didn't lead to the collapse of the monarchy, I doubt the antics of the Queen's grandson, who isn't all that prominent in the line of succession given his father, elder brother, and nephews and nieces have priority, are going to have much of an impact.

I say we invite Prince Harry to become the King of America.

He's an veteran from the Middle East having fought alongside Americans, his attitude and demeanor is more egalitarian, and he has a mixed race marriage. In many ways he could be a good fit as a monarch of a nation like ours. :^)

There's that annoying law about Americans not being allowed to have noble titles or something.

The Windsor dynasty is repugnant. If we have the grave misfortune to have a monarchy at all, let it be anyone else.

Must we bring John Adams back from the grave to put him back in his place?

The only Windsor that was repugnant was Edward. George VI is the top 5 of all British Monarchs.

There is no mandate of heaven. I grew out of my confucian phase while still in my teens.
There is only the absolute right of royalty to rule as they see fit, and the absolute degeneracy of attempting to justify governance logically.
