Congress absolutely can mandate enforcement of statutes.

And what if the executive says enforce it yourself? What then?

It’s just unfamiliarity. And like that quote from Batman Begins, you’re always afraid of what you don’t understand. Whether that’s guns, power tools, or heavy machinery - they’re loud, use parts with incomprehensible names, and are potential safety hazards. People fear guns for the same reason they fear being near running chainsaws and combines.

I make it a point to try and introduce my friends unfamiliar with guns to guns when they visit. They’re free to have whatever opinions they want on gun control (and we don’t discuss that unless it comes up), but I just want them to see how mine work, basic safety, and get a chance to load and shoot one themselves if they want.

I find that after being allowed to see guns up close and handle them, opinions on gun control change with the level of familiarity. Some still have no interest in owning guns themselves, but at least they’re no longer afraid of them and can appreciate why I have them.

Let me tell you about a very possible future that you are already seeing in places like Washington which have just introduced a proposed ban on "high capacity mags'

Democrats will continue to bring in illegal immigrants, as they always do, and offer welfare to the poor, homeless, addicted etc etc

they will use this massive horde of easily swayed voters which can be very easily bought with things like "sanctuary" or "safe injection sites" and "low cost housing"

they will use this horde, and I do mean horde, to simply outvote the rural areas by dominating the dense urban areas.

First they will vote your weapons away

second they will vote your resources away

third they will vote your speech away.

Truth ^

all political power comes from the barrel of a gun as a certain "chairman" said and he was right

political power is only power if it is actually backed up by some type of action that can force the other party to concede.

It’s fear, and fear is caused by ignorance, so I fail to see how it’s any way an unreasonable conclusion. People don’t trust themselves (or others) with firearms because they’re scary, the devices of terrifying spree shooters and gangbangers. Again, this is fear caused by personal unfamiliarity with firearms in any other context.

You shouldn't dismiss this outright as there is a grain of truth here. Since black Americans are beginning to vote other than solely democrat, the democrat party needs fresh meat.

So Cal has domination over Nor Cal water supplys, this even results in there being water rationing for us here in the North.
