While that group is mostly white, and many black people live in poverty because of the legacy of racism, I don't think the laws are specifically designed to protect white people. Pretty sure being in prison sucks regardless of your race, especially American prisons with their terrible conditions. If by prisons you mean the criminal justice system, minorities don't fare well in there because they're on average poorer than whites and often can only afford a public defense, who is more likely to compromise for a plea bargain than to fight for their client. When a minority has enough money to afford a private lawyer, they tend to fare far better, case in point OJ Simpson

There was this Muslim guy who once was on this site who was really ardent about how forbidden it is for non Muslim men to have any sort of relations with Muslim women and how dating is haram,so I told him that two of my ex girlfriends are Muslim and watched the existential dread set in upon him.

I would say brown people in america actually haven't done that bad. There is a lot of poverty among immigrants from Latin America and the middle east but there's also slot of success stories, be it in the medical field, businessmen like carlos slim or radio disc jockey and Scooby doo voice actor Casey Kasem. One of my friends went from being broke and out of a job to being a model, then an actor and finally buying out the iFreeze creamery on canal road, so life hasn't been all bad for us

Again the problem is a mixture of tribes & poverty. All the poor people in China for example do not magically consider themselves to be a race or ethnic group so there is no similar issue there.
